does anyone know if it's safe for me to update to 4.0.1 on my iP4 and update itunes to the newest version without messing up a future jb?

    use the search function.
and if there is no JB for i4, why would there be one for i4.0.1?
in short, do not upgrade if you want to JB your device

the reason i ask is this twitter post from planetbeing

    Twitter / planetbeing: I updated to 4.0.1. Yay, t ...

AFAIK you have to be jailbroken to have an unlock... so it only makes since to me that the jailbreak they currently have works with 4.0.1.

    correct me if im wrong

He posted today that he would upgrade, thats why he did it. I want the prox. sensor fixed, I heard some say it fixed it with 4.0.1 but seeing how Im not sure I am going to stay on 4.0 until the JB comes out and I know 100% its safe...I know planetbeing upgraded and JB worked and unlocked the iphone but I am one to wait for others to do it vs two or three people...Im just being safe I guess. So I would recommend wait until the JB comes out and upgrade.

Default Help please with jailbreak iphone 3GS

I am in deep do-do. My jailbroken and unlocked 3G was stolen. I bought a new 3GS with iOS 4.0. I restored the 3GS with a backup of the 3G. Fine. Then I tried to jailbreak the 3GS with Pwnage. It failed. Then I upgraded to iOS 4.0.1 and iTunes 9.2 simple because I was prompted to do so on the computer. What should I do now to jailbreak and unlock the 3GS?

Yeah I'm curious too. Can we update to 4.0.1 on the ip4? My phone is acting like crap and want to restore thru iTunes to try to fix it before I return it. Or can I just restore to 4.0 again. If so does it matter what version of 4.0 I restore it back too?

Meaning like the one I downloaded to put on my 3G can I used that same firmware on my ip4?

Nope, you can sync fine. Just don't update when prompted.

Thats why im patiently waiting before buying my i4. Its better than b@%*hing @ the devs to get me a copy of something i had no part in creating. Im sorry about your situation but, these guys dont owe it to you. They take their own time to do it and get nothing in return except iDevice freedom (and a little recognition). Hell, they dont even have to share it! Let 'em do what they do...

Sorry about the rant, I'm just tired of hearing nothing but "wheres the i4 JB?" We have a new device, new JB law, no JB and a slew of new users wanting what we have been enjoying for years. I guess ultimately the ball is in apple's court now, huh?

OK, lets try this, IRONING (searching) nope, HOUSE WORK (searching) nothing , LAUNDRY (searching) zip ,So much for the slogan "THERE IS AN APP FOR THAT"
