Apple have started using a 'soft' signing of FW for the 3G now.
Cydia is now grabbing blobs for the 3G as well as the 3GS/iPhone 4

Wow, why are they starting that now? Shouldn't the way they are going be phasing out the 3G in a year? Interesting though.
