Report: Top Apple Engineer told Jobs about antenna problems last year

The infamous iPhone 4 antenna story continues to develop. We now have reports that Apple Senior Engineer Ruben Caballero expressed concerns about the iPhone 4's antenna to Steve Jobs last year during the development stages.
The report was posted on Bloomberg this morning, on the day prior to Apple's press release. As quoted above, this was "leaked" by an unidentified person. However, if proven to be true, it could lead to massive problems for Apple for selling a product which they knew would have issues.Last year, Ruben Caballero, a senior engineer and antenna expert, informed Apple’s management the device’s design may cause reception problems, said the person, who is not authorized to speak on Apple’s behalf and asked not to be identified. A carrier partner also raised concerns about the antenna before the device’s June 24 release, according to another person familiar with the situation.
We will have to wait until tomorrow to hear Apple's response. Some are predicting that Apple will issue $50 gift cards to buyers to purchase bumpers, others that the product will be recalled. The fact is that this story has already caught the attention of virtually every news media in the country, and will continue to grow.
