It's all up to apple on when. I suspect it won't be until international release and firmware 4.1 or 4.0.1 is released. Maybe a month but the number of unlocks and jb at that time will be huge! apple and AT&T will be getting a royal screwing at that point!
By people using their phones on an inferior network? Limited coverage, no 3G? Sounds like AT&T isn't getting screwed at all. Apple uses Native apps as a springboard to integrate apps into new firmwares so they aren't getting screwed either.
AT&T doesn't have to worry about any GSM carrier over here taking their customer base. Once Verizon launches a full LTE network that will change. Other places in the world already have multiple carriers to contend with. AT&T has none.
