2 Things, first my 2 cent worth and secondly a bit of advice needed

Not wanting to sound daft but why is this Jailbreak being held back? I was under he understanding that the exploit was discovered 2 weeks ago at a public event that name escapes me just now. So shouldn't we presume that apple now about it. In fact I've read that apple have been made aware of it.

Am I missing something?

Just really want to get back to Cydia , Winterboard and everything else that I miss so very much. Since upgrading to my 3g S refurb FW3.1.2 serial begins with MC. forcast.exe say's under tethered: "Maybe depending if refurb" Last night I tried to do a tethered Jailbreak but I couldnt restore to 3.1.2 it just would not let me. I thought I'd read that I could do a tethered Jailbreak with FW3.1.3 so I restored to 3.1.3 (not interested in an unlock) and tried Blackra1n but it just kept hanging and I never once saw George Hotz boat race on my screen, it did however tell me I was successful a couple of times and that I should wait for re-boot but it just hangs with a black screen with a light.

Am I doing something wrong or can I not even have a tethered Jailbreak. I'd held of for 3 months from a tethered Jailbreak waiting patiently but the wait is just too much now its killing me.

OK I now understand.

What about a tethered Jailbreak for a 3g S FW3.1.2 refurb never jailbroke with a clean install of FW3.1.3 new boot losader serial model MC132B but its a refurb and forcast.exe notices some kind of difference.

No one doubts that it's genuine and that it will be released at the appropriate time - but Spirit isn't a userland JB.

This is going to sound really noobish but who/what group is userland? I'm new to the iseries and to anything mac. Be gentle with me I know of geohot, cronic-dev, and dev-team, but hadn't really heard of userland until a few days ago when I seen that vid of the jailbreak.
