Blackra1n jailbreak instructions

Hit the button.

3rd gen IPT will need to reboot with blackra1n tethered.

So, what is blackra1n? blackra1n is a 30 second ALL device 3.1.2 jailbreak. Even the ipt3, but the ipt3 is tethered. In order to boot it, just rerun blackra1n.

Unlockers do not upgrade through itunes, as baseband is not downgradeable!

hi,

I have done that, after clicking make it ra1n, showed entering recovery then iphone 3G restarted, apple logo appeared and then stuck with itunes logo connect to usb wire.

what to do next ?

restart my iphone?

What is ur baseband?

CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE 3.1 and 3.1.2 have the same baseband or not? my 3gs iphone is now running 3.1...i want to upgrade to 3.1.2...can i downgrade back if i do so? i want to future unlock the phone as now m doom with the 3.1 that is not unlockable...if the 3.1 and 3.1.2 have the same base band i want to update...

3.1 is still running on 5.11.07

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if this works on the 3G? it sounds like people are having problems with the 3G version of the iphone. including mine! itunes logo connect to usb wire is all i get.

My 3G 16GB is doing the same. Let's see. I am doing a complete restore on my VMware XP and do it all over. I'll let you all know how it goes.

i restored to 3.0 via Iguru method on my 3gs. now apple will not let me upgrade to 3.1.2 is this why? how do i fix it? is it something to do with how i directed apple verify to my own "server"?

2. Close Itunes
3. Turn off your iphone
4. Kill ituneshelper.exe
5. Download blackrain, move it to the root of your C drive.
6. Run blackrain.exe as administrator, nothing else needed !!** I did not put program in winxp compatibility mode**!!
7. Click make it rain
8. Hold down home and power button, as soon as you see the apple logo release the power button, continue to hold the home button.
9. Release home button when you see geohot?s picture.
10. Let it do its thing.

**11.** I had to turn the phone off complete ly by unplugging USB cord. (Note Blackra1n is still running in the background)
**12.** Plug it back in and repeat step 8.
Geohots face came up and it rebooted!!
BoooYaaaa!!! Finally no more itunes restore.

Tried several ways... now I am restoring!

Kept locking up on recovery mode, unplugged and restarted several times, now it won't come out of recovery... restore...

Attempted:
Running as admin
Runnind as admin xp compatible
Changed USB ports
Failed on all attempts...

Will try again tomorrow, hopefully with better luck

i was lucky that the first set of instructions worked perfectly on my two 3Gs that i own. but a buddy's had nothing but problems.

want to thank you b!lski for putting up your find, cause that's what we needed to get his up and running!

So I assume this is still the only Windows solution? And the Dev Team is sticking by their guns that "there will be no Windows version" (still don't get that but that's not my yard to pi$$ is). So what's a Windows guy to do? Did I read some comments somewhere that the Dev Team had warned NOT to use this tool or did I dream that?

Assuming this is the only game in town, it works and doesn't create future problems, I have a couple of questions.

1) Does BlackRa1n assume 3.1.2 is ALREADY on the phone? I've never really seen clarification on this, only that iTunes 9.x had to be installed on the PC. Do you DL 3.1.2 and not install it? What's the deal on that?

2) I don't give a flip about unlocking and likely never will but would like to not slam that door shut unless I have to. Does this potentially break the ability to possibly unlock Baseband later?

And, finally, is there a better solution for Windows users right around the corner that may prove to be better over the long haul? This may be a speculatory question but it may not be.

If you only had Windows and a 3.01 jailbroken 3GS, what would you do or what did you do? I don't mind continuing to wait patiently but I don't want to get too far behind the curve either.

Doesnt work for me a 3G 8g,os 3.2.1...factory unlocked...stuck to conect to i tunes..when i try to unplug and plug in the usb cable again its sa yt jailbreake done...wait for reboot but nothing hapend..any sugestion??
