Hi all,
First a little story:
After seeing and reading http://www.modmyi.com/forums/hardwar...-tutorial.html i was stunned at how beautiful the iPhone looked with the red housing.
I decided that i must do
I went to sites such as ifixit.com who have the most detailed guides i could find on the interwebs for tear aparts. If i got stuck at any point, i would google for help. At times there was nothing out there to find, and if it is it is too hard to find (i couldn't find it ) and is scattered about everywhere
After half dismantelling my iPhone i ran into a couple problems. After googling for hours decided to personal message CPJR. He was a great help, knew exactly where i was and told me exactly what to do. It was just natural to him and i know many of you have been helped out by him in the past.
There are allot of steps when taking the iPhone apart that are hard to work out without a guide of some description, and with no guide easily accessible it is very easy to damage components inside your iPhone. This can be expensive.
CPJR is a real pro when it comes to the hardware side of the iPhone. He has probably fixed more iPhones than you and me have held. Thanks to him we have great guides such as:
Luckily for us the talent here at MMi doesn't stop at just CPJR, we also have One1, a hardware guru who has been offering hardware support for MMi users for over 8 months now:
It is proposed that CPJR & One1 share their knowledge by creating a definitive iPhone dismantelling guide, with easy to read, clear instructions with detailed pictures along the whole way. No stone will be left unturned.
The only thing between this guide and reality is a Macro Lense The components inside the iPhone are so small that a Macro Lense is needed to get real up close and give a better explanation
I have setup a ChipIn for $100. It's not a rediculous amount of money but would be a great help towards the cost of the lense. This will not cover the cost of the lense but will go quite a way towards it and any help is greatly appreciated.
I am asking you, as a fellow MMi member, to ChipIn and help make this guide a reality.
