I had a bad first experience with redsn0w, it stopped responding (on vista) when the phone was being jailbroken! but it automatically rebooted itself, and i re-jailbroken with redsn0w and all was good

You need to update to itunes 8.2

Also I just finished updating my iPhone 2G to 3.0 using redsn0w..my iPhone is unlocked and jailbroken.
I'd like to give big "THANKS" to the Dev Team for taking the time and coming out with the program so that we can enjoy OS 3.0!! As always..great work guys!!

Does redsnow install the bundles such as cydia and Installer? Coz I read some where that only cydia gets installed. Can anyone who has jailbreaked successfully tell me if they have installer or not. Thanks.

I realize redsn0w won't unlock the 3G, but will jailbreaking now with redsn0w prevent future unlocking once ultrasn0w is released? That isn't explicitly stated in the dev team's blog.

Installer has been discontinued by ripdev. It's no longer supported, but you can get Icy off Cydia.

I only got cydia as well, but my friend who used pwnage tool got cydia and icy. i searched for icy in cydia but it brought nothing up. do i need to add a source for it?
