3G S on Backorder
Hey everyone, I don't know if this is common knowledge, but I just placed a direct fulfill on 16g white iPhone 3gs, and it's on Backorder. Quick google search and I found someone complaining that the 32g black was also on backorder... The At&t rep. assured me that it's over a week away, and that my order would be there on the 19th, but I'm sure he was just trying to make a sale. Any similar experiences?

How can something be on back order when it has not even come out yet? I placed my "pre-order" yesterday and all they would tell me is that they were being shipped out on a first come first serve basis.

Just to update, I received an email, and it now shows it as ordered with 0 backordered with a scheduled date of June 19.

I ordered on the 11th. I shows Shipped on the 13th with a UPS tracking number that dosen't show any information. I figured this since it was done at the store with pickup there. Well see in a day or so if it shows up in tracking, but it should definately be there by Friday.

i ordered a black one yesterday through apple.com and was able to purchase it. Should have it here on 6-19-09 as it said in the receipt.

Wouldn't surprise me. They should make sure they are ready for this in the future.

Pre-ordered mine on the 10th from att premier My order status says backordered.
