I'm not sure why this news expresses "surprise" at this, especially when it is far from the first (it's not even 8bananas' first). What it *IS* is one of the first that will let you charge through the device, though that doesn't work well with the iPhone 3G (see my review: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/accesso...-adapters.html )

Nearly all iPod A2DP/AVRCP adapters work just the same. Even the BD-906 says that it is incompatible but, just like the Sony TMR-BT8iP, all you do it tell it that you do not want to enter Airplane mode and it works.

Once again, I "reviewed" it in-depth, so here is what I had to say about this particular adapter:

What crap. Buying one of these for your iPhone or iPod Touch is equivalent to bending over and having Steve jobs love you longtime from behind.

No wonder Apple won't upgrade the Bluetooth on the iPhone and iTouch, they're getting money from crap like this.

Actually, they aren't iPod or iPhone certified and you have to dismiss the "Not made for iPhone" prompt every time. They get money from all the ones that ARE, like the Sony and the Motorola adapters, but those draw MORE power draining your battery FASTER while blocking the port and keeping you from countering that at the same time.

But, yeah, screw them for not allowing native A2DP and AVRCP. If you have the hardware and the competition has been doing it for ages, you had better have it to. I don't care if AVRCP would cut into royalties made on "Made for iPod" dock-connector remotes and such. Are open standards to be avoided AT ALL COSTS?!

I've had A2DP and AVRCP on my iPhone for months. I use the iLuv i212 headphones with the iLuv i151 Bluetooth dongle. VERY limited range; I can't even put my phone in my pocket without interference. I really wish we could have INTEGRATED Bluetooth support.

    Your news is old.

Yeah, but can you charge/power the phone when using the adapter?
