sept. 26, 27 & 28 , 2008
Norwegian developer Erik Kristiansen has made it possible to run Windows Mobile on your iPhone similar to bootcamp.

Secret deals
Fruit themed toymaker Apple has decided to reject its own operating system on the iPhone in favor of Windows Mobile OS.
According to a company insider the change is needed because it was impossible to get the 3G phones to operate under existing OSX guidelines. Although Apple is not happy with the change our insider said they have worked with Microsoft to develop an interface that looks identical and there was a belief that users would be none the wiser.
The Windows OS is proving more reliable than OSX, which has been a target for hackers ever since Apple tried to lock the iPhone into exclusive deals. A source within Microsoft said that the two companies had so much in common that it was logical that they should work together on such a flagship product.Last edited by HITCH; 10-28-2008 at 12:49 PM.

I need more info... i'm skeptical as it looks like the phone booted up in about 3 seconds... and windows mobile booted in about 5 seconds. The last windows mobile phone I had took roughly 2 MINUTES to boot.

seriously, he touches the screen to power it up at the beginning, and uses the home button to enter the calendar.
just need to state this before you read it, i am opening this up for discussion, i am merely voicing my opinion and am not looking for argument with anyone.
1) this is not true
2) if your a winmo fan, why buy an iphone?
3) if your an iphone fan, why would you want to run winmo?
4) with all the new winmo phones coming out lately, and all the new applications coming out for the iphone, why will this even be useful? The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

I think if you've managed to get winmo on the iphone, you're going to know how to enable the hardware buttons as shortcuts.
I started on palm, moved to winmo, now am on iphone. I would love to use either palm or winmo on my iphone simply because of the large volume of applications I have purchased over time on both platforms, all of which will never see the light of day on the iphone as a true native application.

The only problem is that the iPhone doesn't have great hardware specs...the software is what makes it great. Running WinMo on the iPhone would be like running it on any other low-to-midlevel smartphone. Plus I doubt there would be multitouch support. I guess we'll all just have to sit tight and wait for the release.

Windows Mobile on iPhone Is A Hoax
Oh Internets, your gullibility knows no bounds. The demo of "Windows Mobile on an iPhone" that folks are blogging about today is an obvious hoax, part of a viral marketing campaign from Sonic Emotion, a maker of surround-sound systems for PCs, handhelds, and other things that need surround sound.
The demo supposedly took place at a "myPhone2008" conference in Las Vegas from Sept. 26-28. But according to Nancy Lee at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Association, there was no such show. Events in Las Vegas during that period included the Pirrello/Sprung wedding, the ST/Dystonia Symposium, the Itazuke Alumni Reuinion, the Current Practice of Vascular Ultrasound and the Wealth Dynamics Experience. No "myPhone2008." Sorry.
Also, none of the various people mentioned on the site, except the Sonic Emotion folks, seem to exist. "Serling Technologies" has no Web site, and their fake product, "Twilight Scan," is a pun on the fact that Rod Serling was the host of "The Twilight Zone." "Markus Miller," supposedly a sales manager for this nonexistent convention, is a popular German soccer goalkeeper.
So, sorry, folks. No Windows Mobile on the iPhone.

My immediate response to the whole websight was that it felt fake. Now, I'm just as hopeful as the next person to see awsome stuff come out for the iphone, but that was just rediculous. A metal detector? seriously? Also, in the winmo video, notice he didnt even dare touch the homebutton. Wow, his application has menus that open and look like winmo. FAIL!
