syncing iphone to macbook

I've been syncing my iphone with my pc but i just bought a used macbook.
I'm worried about losing all my apps and also jailbreak and such.
I,ve tried transfering purchases but they don't transfer over to itunes.
If I click the apps tab in itunes i get a warning that the stuff on the iphone will be lost.

I've been searching on the net all night and can't get anything to work

In iTunes, did you right click your device on the left panel and select "transfer purchases"?

Sorry lol it's a mac, I mean option+click then select transfer purchases.

you need to sign in to the itunes store on your mac and autorize your computer is under store in the menu bar then authorize. Then try again, if not copy the app folder from windows to a usb stick and manually add them to itunes. You going to have to restore your phone to make it sync with your mac but aslong as you use 4.2 or below you can still jailbreak, if you are an unlocker use pwnage tool to make a custom firmware to maintain your unlockable baseband just right click your phone in your macs itunes and tell it to back up first.

ok, I can sync the iphone to the mac but keep losing the apps. I authorized it through itunes and tried to transfer purchases but it doesn't work. I'll try what you suggest Rob2g, and copy the app folder over. I'll let you know how I get on

I made a little progress by copying them all over manually. I still have a bunch of apps that won't sync.
I get an error that they are not authorized on this computer
But I already authorized this computer

So how do I do it for the ones that still state that they need authorized for this computer?

Finally got my apps over from pc to mac. I transfered over the itunes media folder to the mac.
Now the only problem is I have 3 out 5 of computers authorized, but only have pc laptop and macbook
