Macbook stuck at blue start up screen???

My MacBook all of sudden won't go to the login screen. It gets stuck at the blue screen and nothing else happens. Then a folder with a ? mark pops up. Can anybody help me out?

It sounds like a hard drive failure. If you have your startup disc I recommend booting up to that and running disk utility to be sure. If you are close to an Apple Store you should make a genius bar reservation and have them check it out
