Hi, I'm new to the apple world..... learning everyday lol but far from a full time user.
Since I have bought my macbook (2nd hand) I rebooted the laptop to make it my own, user name etc.... Just recently I had to download some new software. But every time I have to download something I have to type in my password?! I never had to do this before..... what have I changed
I don't want to wipe the computer clean as I have pics and music on it, and don't want to loose them.

The computer requires the admin password for system software updates and most software installation. If you don't have it then you'll have to wipe the system or call the old user.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I did wipe the laptop clean when I received it, and every time I installed or downloaded something it never came up, its just recently started when I had to download the newest software the other day.
I must have clicked something which asks you to enter the password.
