How hot is too hot?
so i've been doing some things lately on my macbook, and it seems to run ridiculously hot compared to my pc.. i know its expected, but whereas i would flip out if my pc proc hit 70C, but it's inevitable on my macbook...
right now i'm at 54C with my fan at 3500 rpm (set by smc fan control)..
When i stream video it hits 70C no problem..
Highest i've ever seen it go, 98C.. no kidding, checked by istatpro(dashboard) and smcfancontrol... i was ripping a dvd and streaming trigun... the proc was at ~93% load.. i just figure if it melts/breaks, i've got applecare
So what are your temps?-Eric

with smc i fluctuate between 99*F and 126*F fan goes from 1996 rpm to 2002 rpm the only time it got higher is when i wanted to see if it actually worked and cranked the fan ALL the way up my laptop was at like 50*F for the few seconds it was that high
in celcius i just switched it 37 at 2002rpmLast edited by iph0n3; 01-02-2009 at 04:01 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
