So what's the difference? Nothing, just size and price. Unless you by the 2.8 GHz pro...

I would though, I mean, you could get 10 sweet games or a terabyte external hard drive with the extra 500 you get by not buying a macbook pro...

^True, but great point luqven. I'm really glad I saw this. If I was going to get a Mac, it was going to be a pro, but this changed my mind.

The pro also comes with two graphics cards (one with dedicated ram and one with shared) whereas the macbook just comes with shared ram. While the price difference does not make up for this small feature, it is another difference to make note of. Apparently nVidia has stated you can also run SLI with the two cards in the pro... not sure of the utility here but it can be done.
The way I see it we have the Macbook (the white plastic one), the MacBook Pro (The new Macbook) and the Macbook Pro+ (the new Macbook Pro)Last edited by sziklassy; 10-29-2008 at 01:21 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

^Will the new MacBook be able to run games and stuff smoothly still? It's not a huge deal, just wondering. I noticed that when I was test-customizing what I would get today.

The new 17" MBP revealed on this years macworld is just a beast and I think MacMall is selling it for $2600 or so with the rebate. It usually gets cheaper than in the official store and I don't think you pay taxes, but either way it's a hefty price to pay, not for for the weak of heart. It would probably last you for a long time though.
