MacBook Trade-In??

Am I able to trade in my MacBook at an Apple Store and pay the difference for a new MacBook?

I have looked on Apple's website, but have not seen any trade up policy.

Just wondering if that's something that Apple can do or do I have to purchase a new MacBook at retail.

Nope, they have a 14 day return policy (with a restocking fee).

Your best bet would be to sell it on ebay or craigslist and then upgrade. Good luck!

They do offer a trade in actually... I forget the link it's either apple.com/recycle or apple.com/recycling Chances are you won't get full value. You are probably better off selling it on your own, but it's worth a look.

I went to the recycling program on their site. If you have the newest MB that they made (the last one they made) and it is in perfect condition, they will give you $350 for it. If it is in "good" condition, they offer $302. If it is in "fair" condition, they offer $242. All of these quotes also include free shipping to them (prepaid label or box). I did not see a single auction on eBay that had the notebook at or below $350. Granted, you still have to worry about someone trying to return it through Paypal (yes they can do that, even if you list it as-is), and also eBay and Paypal fees. If I were you, I would try my luck on eBay. Craigslist can be a little risky, especially when you are talking about selling an item worth over $500. Also, on eBay you can set a reserve, so that you don't have to sell it for below X amount of money. Did you add on anything to it? New hard drive, RAM? That will increase the value a little.
