Wake from sleep speed! ??

When i close lid for air to sleep, then i re-open it takes about 3-4 seconds.

At first I see a black screen and my cursor, a about 3 seconds then the desktop.

What is your speed - I have a friend with a 2010 Mac Air and it resumes instantly!!

P.S. My startup disk wasnt selected, i did this and it made no difference.

I haven't been able to find anything on this either. It is a little annoying - mine needs me to tap the track pad or a key before it kicks in. might it have something to do with a login required/

yeah the login slows it down. without the need to enter the password its fine.
