A Question, Buying MBA Soon
I'm buying the MBA soon. I've decided on this rather than the Pro, but I'm concerned. The Pro has a CD/DVD drive which means it'll have restore discs. The Air obviously doesn't have the optical drive, so how do I back my stuff up and restore it if I ever needed to? My netbook has an option to back itself up on an external hard drive so I did it.
I was just wondering if I can do that on the Air, and if so how? And if not, what can I do if I ever needed to restore or if my Air ever crashes?
I had a PowerBook G4 which crashed and I had to have Leopard OS completely re-installed on the system because nothing else worked to bring it back to life. Is there a way to fix the MBA if that were to ever happen?

I have the 11" Air and highly recommend ordering it with 4GB RAM.

I'm going for bare minimum right now. It's absolutely important that I get a laptop with a bigger screen. 10" netbook is too small but 11" MBA is a good size.
I am going for that because 1) don't want base model, white isnt my favorite nor are those specs 2) MBP is a bit high for my price range, I'm short on cash but don't want to invest in a PC so I'm saving up a little extra for a Mac
When I pay my car off at the end of this year, early summer next year I'll be upgrading to the 13" MBA bc I can afford it then
I'm glad Admin is getting in on itLast edited by i.Annie; 03-10-2011 at 02:41 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I would go put them side by side in the store and test them both out. With the SSD the 13" Air will still be faster on boot and shut down... faster to open apps... and much cooler on your lap. It will suffer if you do any encoding or gaming though.
