i have vista 64 bit installed on my macbook under bootcamp for gaming, i have the macbook (not pro) and 64 bit is not officially supported and you cant run the mac os x driver cd as easily.
workaround to install all the drivers in 64 bit vista is to:
In the Start Menu Type “cmd”, then right-click on the program that appears and choose “Run As Administrator”.
Then enter;
D:
cd "Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple"
msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi
The drivers will now install and 64 bit vista will work flawlessly. i had win7 aswell but the patched nvidia updates where only available for xp/vista. seeing as i only used windows for some odd gaming win7 was no good (yet)The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

What is the main difference between 32 bit and 64 bit, and why do people choose one or the other?

i have 4gb of ram installed.
32 bit only utilises 2gb of ram, whereas 64bit can utilise the whole 4gb (and higher i think, cant remember the limit)
it seemed a waste to have 4gb of ram and then install an os that only uses half of it.The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

Hi guys,
Saw that IvanPK asked about the differences between 32 and 64-bit, and yeah, the memory addressability is a huge difference, but there’s more.
This link has a pretty good rundown of the differences: Compare editions: 64-bit editions of Windows Vista
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Ron

Hi reeko,
I’m not going to tell you which OS to get, because that’s up to you. But, (IMO) Windows 7 looks pretty good. Have you checked it out at all?
If you didn’t get your hands on a Beta, the site has some good info as to what’s in it. That’s all I can offer you, a glimpse, no “this is the best and that sucks,” sorry.
Here’s that link: Welcome to Windows 7
Cheers,
Ron

Actually Ron, i have installed tried and tested windows 7. Personally, i think it feels and looks allot like Vista. It feels like Vista, but merged with the simplicity of XP, which is perfect.
I am a converted mac user but windows 7 really does look very good. Snow leopard will have to bring allot to the table to beat win 7The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

thats what i did from leopard on my macbook, boot camped to win 7, but couldnt find the custom nvidia drivers for win 7, only vista + xp so i got rid of win 7 and will wait for the final release.
ive nabbed a vista license from my old crapped out desktop for bootcamp which is perfect for work bits + gaming. i dont really mind vista?? win7 just feels like a smooth, ironed out vista when you are using it.
ill probably sell my macbook at the years end and get the new one next year with snow leopard installed. ill prob lose a couple 100£ on what i initially paid but it wil come with snow leopard OTB so i wont be losing to much. The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

reeko,
Just saw that you mentioned those Nvidia drivers for 7, did you see that they released a bunch? Here’s the link if you haven’t seen it already.
NVIDIA Graphics Supercharge Microsoft Windows 7
That’s pretty huge for Windows 7 users.

the custom leopard drivers are made by a guy called Dox. They increase gaming performance - allot.
They haven't been updated to Win7 yet
And spazit101, os x is far more superior than anything else out at the moment os wise imo aswell, however, you have got to appreciate the advancements microsoft have made from vista in win7, its refreshing and good all round for everyone - means apple will have to step their game up for snow leopard
