Boot camp Help

I have a .iso file of vista (which i downloaded completely legally ) and i have parallels, which isnt good enough to play fallout 3 and most other games. So anyway i want to use bootcamp to boot Vista, instead of parallels.I dont have any blank disks, i do have toast titanium, and a 2tb external LACIE hard drive (if that helps). I hope that you can help me with this; Jack

Running brand spankin new Macbook Pro 15" 10.5.6

The latest version of toast

if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move it.

Well, sir, I do believe you need to burn it to a disc first. Go find a 4GB DVD and burn it, then do the walkthrough. It's very simple... You don't need Toast, either; you can use OS X's disc utility to burn.

Boot camp is a good idea. I also do that because parallels is not stable. It cannot preform well in some software. Go to Boot camp !!

Is bootcamp as good as it sounds?

I'm debating if i should upload Boot camp on my macbook? I'm just afraid that it may mess up my computer and I'm not sure what Windows installation disc i should use. I have a reinstallation disc and was wondering if it will work? Or do i need an actual windows XP disc?

Where is the best place to download Windows XP?

Is there an online guide/forum that can guide me through the process?

I was also wondering what is the worst that could happen if i do install boot camp?

any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

you need a full install disk.

the worst that can happen is that you get a virus + destroy your mac partition aswell as your windows partition of your harddrive.

if you install it and dont like it, you can remove the partition after without reinstalling os x or losing any data.

ive got 64bit vista on my 2.4 alu macbook under bootcamp for gaming and xp under parallels for everyday tasks. both simple, easy and not hard to uninstall if need be

OP, if you want to be playing games, grab XP. Before you realize the horrors of gaming on vista. (Take it from a victim)

If your macbook has over 2gb of ram then you would probably want a 64bit OS to utilise the additional ram.

XP 64bit is not supported officially by Apple. If drivers for it exist out there, you will have to go and hunt them all down yourself.

Vista 64bit is supported by Apple and all drivers can be installed via. the Mac OS X install disk.

And google Dox nvidia drivers , they are customised ones and increase the graphics performance for gaming.
