thats right but with WidgetRunner it's a very small app, that allow you to have it on your desktop and also have your widget at the login.. so you don't have yo run your widget all the time to have it on your desktop.. it will do it automaticly

WidgetRunner has no Options coming with &doesn't take much place like LiveWallpaper the touch click option will work also, try it and its very cool.. you can create your own widget for dashboard and run it.. also its free

This is exactly right. Of we can get the uniaw port to dashboard. Then transfer with widget runner. This will Back door a light mod. Sure uniaw is still heavy. But this will a lot lighter than live wallpaper. That app alone creates issues for some. I know people have done a lot of work around to make live wallpaper more fitting to their taste. But, I would rather have a mod like I widget, light and movable Just me. I'm a Save ram kinda guy.

And like NewD pointed out, if you turn certain options on or off , then it's possible to break the mod in live wallpaper due to change restrictions and app limitations. Almost every change requires a log put and log in, or respring in our language.

This new way should not be like that. Should be as easy ad make the change and apply the mod. Delete the mod. Make another change reactivate the mod.

Y'all will see once its out. Should be a game changer for us. I really hope so

Hi Ladies & Gents, here a quick video that i made, for people having problem with config.js and asking why there changes doesn't take effect, this is how i deal with Livewallpaper to work, some other has different way to make it work, and i respect that

My Methode is very Simple and take 10 seconds to take effect because Uniaw has lot of files to load on Livewallpaper.. this is the reason

I completely agree!! Even though I have LOADS of RAM on both my MacBookPro and my MacPro.

Ah.. So you CAN confirm, Hemp, that not all people will have UniAW work correctly for them in LiveWallpaper? That there are a lot of mitigating factors? And that using Dashboard method will likely solve a lot of those issues?

Yea I personally have had several issues myself with 3 out of 6 versions I downloaded. One was totally my fault tho. I think one was live wallpaper And the third was something I could not figure out. I have not seem the white screen tho. That raises a different set of questions Cause the conflict would be with the wallpaper implementation of live wallpaper app. So you running any other screen saver app? Or wallpaper apps or tweaks?

The answer is yes tho, I have had a few complications. And yes. I am ready to see the dashboard version of this.

And honestly. It doesn't matter how much ram any of us have. Uniaw is heavy. And when modifying wallpaper, constant location, and adding animation. The latency will make itself apparent when running multiple heavy apps. Like. iTunes, iPhoto, safari x 6 tabs. Apple did a good job on mavericks with power allocation to apps But I can see a difference when running heavy apps. Is why I am personally excited about a dashboard version. Hopefully I can dumb it down for my needs and my speed preferences for my Mac. Just my 2 cents bro

Ian posted a uniaw dashboard widget in the UNIAW thread already I believe. Anything animated in livewallpaper is gonna start your fans going, even on the more extreme machines. Even the default widgets that come with livewallpaper cause this if they have any kind of animation. My way around it was just using the slideshow of uniaw and adding that animated transition between wallpapers, it only animates for like 3 seconds every 20-30 seconds so doesn't heat up the mac enough to start up the fans but still gives you a cool animation on your desktop, and having the weather info there is a bonus, I haven't seen any slowdown or fans speeding up due to the weather info.

I dunno if it's just the way livewallpaper handles animations or just the fact that animations on a larger scale cause it, maybe a bit of both.

Interesting. Can you post a link to the mod Simon. Please? Or at least direct us to the page. Thank you.

    And on another note I
Not sure live wallpaper is equipped to handle the harassment we as power widget users are putting it thru. Just saying

Yes thats right Simon, Uniaw dashboard was posted by Ian, just doing some modification on mine instead of having the iphone has a widget, will be a TV instead.. and for the fan, i was curious about the speed.. so what did is to compare 2 Uniaw by shutdown my mac between each one

    Fan Run Faster :

-When the animation is all over the screen
    - when the clouds containers.. birds and the the others are more than 320px.. i test the containers at 1280x800 and i can tell you that the fans running 3 times more.. so more the containers are big and more it slow down the animation

    Fan Run Smooth :

    - Did a Tv version and did a small part of animation on the desktop instead of having all over the screen and i can see the difference

    - Work more smooth with livewallpaper

    Fan For the Dashboard :

    - I was curious if there will be any difference between the dashboard widget and Livewallpaper and i don't see much difference about the RAM

But i can see the difference between Uniaw Tv ( LW) and Dashboard

    - The Dashboard Widget run quicker than Livewallpaper, no heating Fan like before, Movable.. zoom option

This was all my test for this widget

That's because dashboard widgets have allocated RAM And if it the widget pulls more than it reaches into what is needed for the widget to continue running. Love wallpaper works as an app And therefore it's ram is thrown in with all your other apps. This was my understanding And why I thought it would run smoother and better as a widget rather than an app.

Huh? Those are direct links to his posts. You on a computer or your phone? If you are using the MMi app that is a bug in the app that causes that link problem, open this page in safari first then hit the links.
