Default Usability Test Skim for Mac
    Hello Everybody,

My name is Maurice Moss and I am a grad student in the technical communication program at Minnesota State University in Mankato. I am working on a team to develop a manual for a Mac software application. We are at the usability stage and need users to test the manual. If you have a few minutes, please download Skim for Mac and review the attached instructions. Any feedback you have regarding the manual should be emailed to [email protected].

Thank you in advance for your time to test Skim for Mac!

This project is an assignment in a required graduate studies course, Technical Document Design and Procedures, at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

The purpose of this project is to document functions found in an open-source software. We chose Skim for Mac, a PDF viewing, exporting, and note taking application. From our documentation, we aim to provide the user with the ability to open a PDF, add notes, export notes as text, and export presentation ready notation with Skim for Mac.

Attached to this email are two versions of the documentation. The document entitled "Skim for Mac_Minimalist" is intended for users who are familiar with the functions listed above; the document entitled "Skim for Mac" is intended for users who are unfamiliar with the functions listed above and/or using a Mac.

To download Skim for Mac, please follow this link: Skim | Home, and follow the directions listed on the website.

After the application has been downloaded, please complete all four procedures listed in the document, then answer the following questions for each procedure:

    View a PDF

    1. Is this objective clear?
    2. Is the process easy to follow?
    3. Is there information missing?
    4. Is there superflous information?
    5. Are the visuals helpful?
    6. Additional comments:
