I am having problems with installing flash player. I go through the install and everything but then when i try and open a video with it, the program doesnt come up. i have no idea whats going on.
After downloading and running the install, go to your Applications folder, control-click Safari, select "Get
Info" and check the "Open Using Rosetta" option. The plugin will now work perfectly.
And by the way... Flip4Mac's amazing WMV Player, which enables your
Quicktime Player to play and save Windows Media Video as mov files,
works fine in the QuickTime Player after you similarly activate the
Rosetta feature inside your Quicktime Player. Enjoy!

I'm not sure why you can't check the box. Are you logged in as Admin?
Rosetta is a lightweight dynamic translator for Mac OS X. and is a key for the transition of Apples line from PowerPC to Intel processors as it enables pre-existing Mac OS X software to run on the new platform without modification.
actually after i installed that flip4mac i cecked agian and i was able to check it. dont know if maybe i didnt have the cursor on the box enough or whatever. doesnt matter i guess. no that it is checked.
