Mac iTunes question

I upgraded to 2.1 on my second phone and it synced contacts from an OLD library that isn't relative anymore. When I check the sync contacts, it just adds the old one's in the itunes library. How can I make iTunes update it's cache of my contacts?

my itunes pulls my contacts from my address book......?

any edits i make in my address book are updated on my phone and vice versa during sync, and all syncs with my gmail aswell for a backup (all in itunes)

don't mean to sound stupid, but does itunes itself save a cache of your contacts?

Correct. The contacts are from my other computer. You transfer the XML library when you swap computers to avoid having to reformat all your pods and phones.
