At times my screens brightness is a little to bright for me especially at night when I am ready to fall off my chair because I can't get off my computer... LOL you know those later nighters on the computer!
A Cool program I found is called Shades.... what this does is it covers your entire screen content with a highly adjustable overlay. You can adjust brightness from a menu-bar item, a hover window or through keyboard shortcuts.... One drawback is the app's inability to automatically hide itself when your making screenshots.
