Disk Inventory X is a very useful, free program that allows you to see what is taking up a lot of space on your Mac.

When you launch the app, it gathers all of your hard drives information and stuff, then shows you a bunch of blocks, large to small, color coded, showing you what is taking up space.

It's very helpful if your low on disk space and you need to know what's taking up all your space, rather than searching around in finder for what you think is taking up space.
