Apple's Motion for a Sales Ban against Samsung Products Denied in Second Patent Trial
Apple’s motion for a sales ban against Samsung products that a jury found to have infringed on three patents back in May was recently denied by US District Court Judge Lucy Koh. The order was related to the second Apple vs. Samsung patent trial where Apple did not adequately demonstrate “irreparable harm” or tie any alleged harm to Samsung’s infringement of the three granted patents.
Judge Koh’s ruling comes after trial proceedings and after a jury previously awarded Apple $119.6 million in damages in May. The Cupertino California company was also found guilty of infringing upon a single Samsung patent, which the jury assigned a $158,000 award to. The recent decision was used on trial testimony and subsequent hearings from both Apple and Samsung.
The recent denial is another setback for Apple in its bid to ban Samsung products in the US and abroad. For those of you who didn’t know or didn’t remember, the Cupertino California company recently withdrew a cross-appeal of Judge Koh’s final judgment in the first Apple vs. Samsung case, dropping a sought injunction against 23 patent-infringing devices. That demand was denied twice before Apple successfully argued an appeal of Judge Koh’s original ruling, though the motion was ultimately put to bed.
Apple and Samsung previously agreed to settle all non-US lawsuits earlier this month, which leaves California as the only other legal battle zone. The two tech giants continue to duke it out in their everlasting lawsuits. We’ll have to see what happens going forward.

And for your information, I worked with a lot of people who had Samscum units that broke when dropped...the people with iphones
didn't have any problem with their devices. And this was on a hard linoleum floor inside of a building. Who has the marketshare, and products that aren't made out of cheap plastic...(Apple)! Watch Samsung slink into the deep despair of depression next month when Apple once again will deliver the goods that people are looking for. They will dominate the market again.
