Apple Revamps Logo for Earth Day
Apple on Tuesday temporarily revamped its logo in recognition of Earth Day. And, this year, Apple's former environmental critics aren't balking at Apple's gesture as an insignificant effort. This days, Apple is going green in a very aggressive manner.
Behind the green leaf atop the Apple logo and the green attire sported by Apple Store employees today, the company has enjoyed a whirlwind of positive headlines this week for its efforts to cultivate renewable energy use. Apple confirmed this week that 120 of its U.S.-based retail stores are now powered solely by renewable sources of energy.
As we told you yesterday, Apple plans to bring green power to its remaining 135 stores in the United States as soon as possible.
Additionally this week, Akshay Masand detailed Apple's recently unveiled ad campaign that outlines the impact of the company’s environmental initiatives. The campaign talks up Apple's renewed commitment to environmental responsibility in a video narrated by Apple CEO Tim Cook.
"Better. It's a powerful word, and a powerful ideal. It makes us look at the world and want more than anything to change it for the better. To innovate, improve, to reinvent. To make it better," Cook is quoted in the video.
