On Tuesday, following an update for iOS devices dubbed iOS 7.1.1, which included a number of bug fixes, Apple also released a security update for Mac OS X users.

The security update improves the security of OS X as a whole – MacRumors notes that the update is available for OS X Mavericks, OS X Mountain Lion, and OS X Lion users. Detailed information on the security update can be found on Apple's Web site by following this link.

The update comes in at around 80MB and is recommended for all users. You will want to save all of your work prior to installing the update, as it will require a system reboot to install.

To get the update, head over to the  menu in your Menu Bar and choose "Software Update," or you can open the Mac App Store and find the security update under the Updates tab.
