On Thursday, Fortune published its annual list of the world's most admired companies. Once again, a familiar name took top honors.

For the 7th consecutive year, Apple was recognized as the globe's most venerable brand. It's a nice honor considering the extensive setbacks the company has endured in the last twelve months, including its precipitous stock slide from which it's yet to fully recover.

Taking the second spot on the list is Amazon, followed in third place by Google. Rounding out the top ten are: Berkshire Hathaway, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, Walt Disney, FedEx, Southwest Airlines, and General Electric. One would have to look way down the list to find some of Apple's top competitors in the mobile and digital arenas. Samsung, for example, clocked in at number 21, while Microsoft placed 24th on the list.

Fortune's annual ranking is determined by careful analysis of some 1,400 companies. To review the list in full, click here.
