Google Definitely Beating Apple to the Smartwatch Market
Those waiting and watching for Apple's iWatch are going to end up watching Google beat Apple to the punch as the Internet search giant is now expected to enter the smartwatch market very, very soon.
On Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Google is almost ready to launch its smartwatch and will do so within months.
As of this writing, we're told that Google is already in talks with Asian suppliers to begin mass production of the device.
The new device, which will run on Android, will be integrated with Google Now, the company's intelligent personal assistant that can answer questions, make recommendations and predict what information users need based on what they are doing, a person familiar with the situation said.
Still no word, however, on the device's name, price, or anticipated launch date. All we know for certain is that it's coming.

Has Apple even hinted at an iWatch? I hope an iWatch never comes out just to slap these rumors in the face!!!

If Apple is working on an "iWatch” they'll continue to work on it until its perfected. These other companies pushing out watches won't affect Apples release date. I'm kind of excited to see what google has to offer with their watch.

If and when Apple brings such a device to market, I can only hope they realize that it shouldn't run a smartphone OS. Battery life is impacted more by that than anything else. Keep it simple, lite, and an accessory for the phone. It should not function as a standalone, in the absence if an iDevice/Mac, beyond the simple function of telling time. They can have my jailbreak when they pry it from my cold dead fingers.
