Default Apple Plucks Top Design Talent from Nike

The scuttlebutt around Cupertino today is that Apple has plucked some top design talent from Nike.

With wearable technology believed to be on the mind of Tim Cook and other Apple executives to an extensive degree these days, it's far from a tech news shocker that Ben Shaffer - Nike's studio director for the company's "Innovation Kitchen" - has been poached by the iDevice maker.

"Under Shaffer, a Nike employee since 2011, the Innovation Kitchen brought forth the successful Fuelband fitness tracker as well as an unusual, lightweight running shoe called the Flynit," says Nathan Ingraham of The Verge. "Under his leadership, Nike was recently named the most innovative company of 2013 by Fast Company."

Shaffer is widely cited as the primary catalyst for Nike's recent designation as the "most innovative company of 2013" by Fast Company. If innovation is a problem for Apple today, the procurement of Shaffer's talents should go a long way to curtail that issue, especially as Apple prepares to venture in to the wearable tech arena.

Although Apple and Nike aren't officially speaking about Shaffer and where he is headed, we can confirm that Shaffer is no longer employed by Nike.

Not saying much considering Nike has some of the ugliest styles out there. Lol
    Not all but a lot.
