Default Apple Announces Heart of iPhone 5S A7 Chip

On Tuesday, Apple announced their next step forward in chip technology. The chip, named the A7 chip, is Apple’s latest feat in processing technology and supersedes Apple’s A6 chip.

Apple notes that the A7 chip uses a “desktop-class” 64-bit architecture, and contains more than 1 billion transistors. The chip also uses a 102mm die size. iOS 7 will be ready to take advantage of the 64-bit architecture.

As for performance, Apple promises that the A7 chip will deliver up to 2x faster graphics performance than the iPhone 5. The CPU performance is up to 40x faster than the original iPhone:

Apple showed off the chip playing Infinity Blade III, and wow the performance speaks for itself.

The A7 chip will be the heart of Apple’s latest iPhone, the iPhone 5S. The iPhone 5C, on the other hand, will use the same A6 chip that the iPhone 5 uses.

To bad they didn't increase the screen size. I normally upgrade every time a new one comes out but I will skip this one & wait for the iPhone 6
