NPD: Apple's MacBook Air Accounts for 56% of Thin-and-Light Notebook Market
According to new data from NPD, Apple’s MacBook Air is by far the most popular notebook in its class. The recently released data shows that the ultra-portable device holds more than half of the thin-and-light laptop market. The market research firm NPD estimates that Apple’s MacBook Air grabbed roughly 56% of the market in the first five months of 2013 according to the folks over at CNET. The rest of the market was split between several assorted Ultrabook manufacturers.
NPD’s figures don’t take into account the release of Apple’s newest MacBook Airs, which leverage Intel’s new Haswell processors. The 2013 models were designed to maximize battery life, with an advertised 12 hours of battery life in the case of the 13-inch model.
As a leader in the mobile computer sector, Apple has been able to somewhat support the trend that has seen the traditional computing segment in steep decline. A report earlier in the year estimated that Apple’s Mac lineup generates more profit than other top five PC makers combined.
We’ll have to wait to see if the recently reported issues with the new MacBook Air will cause any issues with sales but it doesn’t seem like it will have any large negative impact for Apple.

I don't see those issues affecting the sales of MacBook Airs. Their nice ultra portable laptops. I don't see anyone touching them in the next few years. It is Not by our Hands that things Change, BUT rather our Interventions that change ourselves.
