Apple Loses Head of Patent Licensing and Strategy
Apple is bidding farewell to a trusted colleague and key player in the company's ongoing intellectual property wars with leading competitors in the tech space.
A formidable intellectual powerhouse on intellectual property, Boris Teksler served as Apple's head of Patent Licensing and Strategy for four years. And his work was particularly impactful during Apple's recent patent infringement war with Samsung.
Teksler recently departed from Apple in order to accept a new position at Technicolor, a well-known global technology leader in the media and entertainment sector. Teksler will serve as President of its Technology Group which includes Intellectual Property & Licensing and the company's "world class Research & Innovation activities."
Technicolor says Teksler's appointment "reinforces Technicolor's commitment to create and deliver exciting new experiences for consumers in theaters, homes, and on-the-go, and pursue the exploitation of its IP assets."
"Boris Teksler is a skilled executive with a unique combination of skills including protecting intellectual assets and driving focused innovation to commercial success," asserts Frederic Rose, Chief Executive Officer at Technicolor. "The Technology Group is tasked with extending our licensing growth and Teksler's experience in mobile licensing makes him well suited for the position."

If the patent war was doing so well, why isn't Apple try to keep him? Apple certainly have the money. Going from Apple to Technicolor? Come on...
