Default iWatch Testing Has Reportedly Commenced

Sources speaking with Taiwan's Economic Daily News report that testing has begun in earnest on Apple's forthcoming iWatch.

According to individuals in the know, Apple's intelligent touchscreen smartwatch is getting closer to mass production.
In fact, as of this writing, the company is chiefly concerned with reading the device's 1.5-inch OLED screen.

It is believed but not confirmed that longtime Apple manufacturing partner Foxconn will be in charge of the product's early production run. Sources in the Asian supply chain have similarly reported that Foxconn is involved but those claims could merely be speculative considering that Foxconn largely remains Apple's go-to manufacturing partner for almost every new mobile product launch or refresh.

In recent months, we've heard chatter that Apple has assigned dozens of its best and brightest engineers to build the ultimate smartwatch. With the WWDC just weeks away and a busy product refresh/launch cycle ahead, it isn't difficult to fathom that Apple is preparing the iWatch for inclusion in the upcoming batch of announcements.

According to a recently published consumer survey, as much as 20% of the population is already interested in the concept of Apple's iWatch (or a smartwatch in general). In other words, there's huge money waiting to be made in this market and Apple is probably in a hurry to open the floodgates of new revenue.

If it doesn't have serious integration with the iPhone/iPad and Apple TV. Otherwise it's not going to be worth getting.

Default Apple is behind the curve.
Apple is a little behind the curve. I'm wearing my Fossil-designed Sony Ericsson MBW-150 Music Edition wristwatch from 2007 right now. I know that Apple is trying to do something different that wouldn't pass for a regular wristwatch but I still expected these things to be everywhere by now, especially considering the utility they provide (alert when leaving your phone, no need to risk dropping phone just to change tracks, discrete call notification and rejection with caller ID, etc).

"If it doesn't have serious integration with the iPhone/iPad and Apple TV." is a fragment that does not express a complete thought or idea. What is it you are trying to say? Please express it in a sentence this time. Thanks! IF it doesn't, THEN what?

Thanks. Didn't get the joke. But jokes apart, I'm pretty sure if the watch comes out, it won't have a SIM card slot and no data plan. Maybe wifi but that's about it. Bluetooth for sure.

I've said it before...I can't see this iWatch thing going very far... Who wears a watch anymore? I may be way off base here...but I just don't see it...
