Default Tree on Pixar Campus Dedicated to Late Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs

A tree at the corporate headquarters of Disney’s Pixar has been dedicated to Steve Jobs, who was also the co-founder of the animation studio as well as Apple. The tree and plaque can be found in front of the Steve Jobs Building at Pixar’s campus.

The silver colored plaque that sits in front of the tree has the following message on it:

    Steve Jobs
    Our partner, mentor and friend
The same words were also featured in a tribute to Jobs at the end of the credits of last year’s Pixar theatrical release of Brave, which hauled in more than a half-billion dollars at the worldwide box office.

For those of you who were unaware, Jobs was a co-founder and main backer of Pixar as he spent millions of dollars of his personal money to keep the studio alive well before the company turned a profit. His investment paid off quite well in 2006 though, when Disney bought Pixar and Jobs netted roughly $4 billion in shares.

It took them more than a year to do this? I thought the concept was to plant a new tree, not dedicate an already full grown tree.

Trees never stop growing, so technically it's not a fully grown tree.

I hope it's an apple tree. And not just any apple tree, a McIntosh.
