Apple's iTV May Be Controlled By So-Called 'iRing'
You've got to hand it to the rumor mill on this one. They've cooked up a good one... unless, of course, this is closer to reality than rumor.
Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets says Apple will not only roll out it's long-awaited iTV this year, the company will "revolutionize the TV experience forever" by simultaneously introducing the iRing, which will control the connected HDTV.
The "iRing" accessory described by White is a new concept that has not been previously detailed in other reports. His visits with Apple suppliers suggested the ring will act as a "navigation pointer" for the television, and will allow the TV set to enhance motion detection and replace some of the functionality found in a remote.
"Essentially, we believe the 'mini iTV' screens will be able to capture content from the 60-inch 'iTV' across a distance of up to 200 meters, allowing a user to view 'iTV' content in the kitchen, washroom, garage, bedroom, backyard, etc.," White says. "We believe Apple will offer one 'mini iTV' per 'iTV,' but package options will include up to four screens (i.e., one screen is part of the standard package and pay extra for each additional."
All the above could enter the market "in the later part of 2013."

^He's just reporting the news, and this iRing was all over the news today besides Apple Insider, it was on NBC News and many others.
Me, I'd buy it in a minute when the 60" iTV comes out, but that's just me...

A 9.7" "mini iTV" screen. Hmmmm..... If only Apple had some sort of device like that available right now...
This is one of the weirdest Apple rumors I've ever heard.

I get irritated when I can not find a remote that is in the same room as I am, I can easily see myself or my family member go somewhere I/they can not easily get back wearing the ring... Can you imagine how pissed off a person will be?
I guess Apple's solution would be everyone need to buy their own iRing so Apple can get their money.
Thumbdown for iRing.

What happens if your too fat or skinny and the ring doesn't fit or slips right off? :P
Cool idea though.

It will have new technology built in that is very very high tech, no ring necessary. I forget the name of the company but it is just gonna be controlled by gestures in the air, similar to kinect but more advanced. In combination with voice and facial recognition. The tech company was rated by MIT as the most amazing tech in the past ten years, it dil be able to recognize the difference in hands, number of fingers, faces, voices, and shapes and distance with no calibration besides creating a personal account. They are also going to incorporate a new type of widescreen, 20+:9, and will incorporate nearly all household technologies.
