New Mac Tool Makes it Super Simple to Download the iOS Firmware You Need

With the growing number of iOS devices and their firmwares, it can be hard to know exactly what firmware file to download, and where to get it. A new Mac tool makes it very easy to find and download the firmware file you need.
The tool is called F1rmware by iOS developer Bradley Friedman of iOS development team Hashbang Productions.
As shown above, the user interface is extremely easy to follow. Just select your iOS device, and then select the firmware for that device that you want to download for it. The list of iOS devices that you can choose from include:
- iPhone 3GS
- iPhone 4 (CDMA)
- iPhone 4 (GSM)
- iPhone 4S
- iPhone 5 (CDMA)
- iPhone 5 (GSM)
- iPad 2 (Wi-Fi)
- iPad 2 (CDMA)
- iPad 2 (GSM)
- iPad 3 (Wi-Fi)
- iPad 3 (CDMA)
- iPad 3 (GSM)
- iPad 4 (Wi-Fi)
- iPad 4 (CDMA)
- iPad 4 (GSM)
- iPad Mini (Wi-Fi)
- iPad Mini (CDMA)
- iPad Mini (GSM)
- iPod touch 4
- iPod touch 5
The list of iOS firmwares that you can download with F1rmware include:
- 5.0
- 5.0.1
- 5.1
- 5.1.1
- 6.0
- 6.0.1
- 6.0.2
- 6.1
- 6.1.1
- 6.1.2
Clicking on the download button opens your default Web browser to a link for the iOS firmware file that you can download. F1rmware is currently only available for Mac OS X, and can be downloaded for free from this link. The tool can be handy, and should prove useful if you need to download firmware in a hurry.

I'll tell you how I find the firmware:
itunes.com/version
Find (insert number here i.e. 6.1.2).
Of course you'll need the version of your phone like iphone 5,1 or what have you.
Program sounds like a good idea provided it's updated right away and you are downloading from apple and not some virus site.

If apple stops signing a prev FW, then you can only install the most recent for a5+, this def one of the most pointless tools I've ever seen lol

I tried it but it keeps giving me this message: "Sorry, I don't know about that firmware version." It happens everytime I try and get 6.1.2 for iPhone 5 GSM.....
