Default Apple Dumps Vine from Editor Picks

As it turns out, Apple must have heard about Vine's little "problem" this week. That is the only explanation for why Apple has effectively dumped Vine - the freshly launched app for video sharing on Twitter - from its Editor's Choice.

Despite being rolled out for Twitter just last Thursday, the Vine app is already plagued by an unwelcome amount of adult video content. And while Vine’s terms of service don’t specifically warn of banishment in response to uploading mature content, Twitter's terms of service certainly don't encourage that sort of thing.

You are responsible for your use of the Services, for any Content you post to the Services, and for any consequences thereof. The Content you submit, post, or display will be able to be viewed by other users of the Services and through third party services and websites. You should only provide Content that you are comfortable sharing with others under these Terms.
Apparently, lots of folks are comfortable showing material that - shall we say - isn't appropriate for others. And as a result of this proliferation of smut, Apple has stripped Vine today of its prime posturing as an Editor's Choice in the App Store. This seemed the logical choice, critics of Vine say, after a pornographic clip was accidentally promoted as an Editor's Pick before being quickly discovered and removed.

As of this writing, it remains to be seen if and how Vine or Twitter will address the growing problem of naughty video clips turning up with surprising frequency.

"A human error resulted in a video with adult content becoming one of the videos in Editor's Picks, and upon realizing this mistake we removed the video immediately," said a Twitter representative. "We apologize to our users for the error."
My *** xD One of the editors just likes him some "amateur anatomical documentaries"

You'd think Apple would want to remind people how children are made - that way the population will increase and they'll sell more phones. Shunning sex is counter-productive to capitalism.

In today's age of distrust, it's probably more important to win over the parents of the young and naive, seeing as how there is a greater percentage of 5 year olds with iPhones than adults.

Apple never dumped Alien Blue, the absolutely awesome client for Reddit. Reddit is one-stop shopping for pornfest.
