Apple May Have Another Crack at Buying BlackBerry After BB10 Launch
Since 2007's release of the iPhone, Apple has been subjected to rumors that the company may consider a takeover of the BlackBerry smartphone line. With each passing year, as BlackBerry loses more of its market share, rumors have escalated that the smartphone line is ripe for ab acquisition of some variety.
In recent weeks, as excitement builds for the launch of RIM's new BlackBerry 10 product line, talk of acquisition has quieted... until today. But this time around, BlackBerry is behind the renewed speculation about RIM's future plans.
Research in Motion will look into strategic alliances with other technology companies once it has launched its new BlackBerry 10 models, its chief executive told a German newspaper.
While shares of RIM have bounced on Wall Street this month and talk of a serious BlackBerry comeback s underway, few believe that BlackBerry will ever reach its former heights again. As a result, RIM's biggest aim may be to help the brand regain enough lost momentum to drive the bidding war for BlackBerry a little higher than it might otherwise have been.

Where do you get that title from? Another classic misleading title from "M"Essany.

Maybe its in the interpretation. I read the title and instantly thought it meant rim was back on the market so to speak. Thus, i further concluded, that apple as well as any other company may indeed be able to purchase rim. But im weird so what do i know?

If apple were to buy RIM they would do so only for patents which they would then use to file even more lawsuits to crush competition.

I hope rim does make a major come back because more serious competition means more innovative products for all

I would suspect they want to sell the company.
