Facebook Holding Apple-Style Event Later Today

Facebook appears to be holding an Apple-style special event later today, complete with a mysterious “Come see what we’re building” tag and rumors of things such as a Facebook phone. The phone is rumored to be either built on Android or a similar budget-friendly smartphone that will allow emerging markets to share all their data. Other things that are rumored to be released include a new search engine to compete with Google and possibly a new version of Facebook Messenger for the iPad.
Overall, this seems to be a simple extension of what Facebook is already doing and if the company decides to add several features to the rumored announcements then it could possibly be something more transformative. We won’t know for sure though until Zuckerberg takes the stage and announces what the company has in store.
The event starts at 10:00 AM PST, 1:00PM EST and there currently is no word on a stream yet. We’ll be reporting any iOS related news though so you’ll be covered on that. In the meantime, what do you think Facebook has in store? It’s likely that a Facebook Messenger app will be announced for the iPad, is this something you are looking forward to? Share any speculations and opinions below!

Eh idk... I don't think Facebook will be very successful with other things.
'Facebook phone' doesn't seem "Right" I guess.

My prediction:
1. Facebook's desktop site will once again undergo a major overhaul.
2. Everyone will ***** and moan about the changes and make posts - ON FACEBOOK - about how they hate facebook and are swapping to Google+.
3. Two weeks later everyone will be glued to the new facebook as they were before.
Just a hunch.

The only reason Facebook is still in business, i feel this way about apple too occasionally, is because its so universal, Facebook is clogged with all this crap and now everytime someone likes a photo/page/status It's in my news feed, and half the people like the most nonsensical crap like "if you love your grandma like, ignore if you want her to die." It's a meeting place for controversial topics too, and people are extremely unoriginal by copying what others have previously said like reposted screenshots of statuses etc. and they claim as their own. Facebook is also filled with "lms for ____" if Facebook wasnt needed for 3/4s of mobile games and other apps, it would lose 1/2 of its active users
