Default Document Revealing the Potentially 2013 iMac Bound Intel Haswell Chips Leaked

According to a leaked document discovered by VR-Zone, details on 14 new desktop processors set to launch in 2013 based on Intel’s “Haswell” architecture have been revealed. They offer a glimpse at chips that could potentially make their way into the next-generation iMac.

The processors consist of quad-core Core i5 and Core i7 chips with as many as 8 threads. In addition to faster speeds, the new chips will also include Intel’s next-generation HD 4600 integrated graphics processor. On the high-end the Core i7-4770K processor is said to run at a base frequency of 3.5 GHz with 8 megabytes of total cache. Combined with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, the chip is said to max out at 3.9 GHz.

Next year’s Haswell lineup includes a total of six “standard power” desktop processors, with two of them being more powerful Core i7 models. There also seem to be eight “low power” processors that include three Core i7 variations. The most powerful among the lower processors is the Core i7-4770S, which will have a base frequency of 3.1 GHz but can run up to 3.9 GHz with Turbo Boost. The slowest processor on the other hand is the Core i5-4430S, which will run at 2.7 GHz base frequency with 6 megabytes of total cache, 4 cores and 4 threads.

It’s likely that the listed Haswell desktop processors will make their way into Apple’s all-in-one iMac lineup, which are the only Macs to use desktop processors. The Mac Pro, which is said to receive a significant update in 2013 uses Intel’s Xeon server chips, while the Mac mini currently relies on low-power mobile processors. As of right now, no release date has been given for the new Haswell chips but it’s unlikely that they will appear in new Macs anytime soon as the new iMac lineup was just given a major refresh with a new design and Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge processors recently.

Are you new to Apple? Or tech in general? Everything you buy now is replaced by a new version in 6-12months

Haha! I'm just be a sarcastic bastard as usual. I do however have a little butthurt waiting so damn long for them to refresh the iMac. And I don't mean the useless fact that it is thinner... who cares, it's a desktop. I was waiting for the new hardware with IvyBridge, USB3, etc. It took so long this time around one would think they would of waited till 2014 to release a new model. That and the fact that Apple has paid little attention for quite some time now to anything that isn't portable. It's not like it's my iPhone where I can barley get the wrapping off of it and they release a new & improved version of the same phone.
