iMac Wannabe Pops Up in China
While many users continue to wait for Apple to ship its new iMacs, knockoffs begin to surface in the market. MIC Gadget recently posted photos of a Chinese iMac knockoff, which goes by the name “Lavi.” The knockoff isn’t exactly a horrible computer as the tech specs point towards it being powered by an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD option. Users who decide to purchase the Lavi are also given the option of choosing from either Windows 7 or Windows 8 as its operating system.
The place where the computer gets interesting is when it comes to its design, which as anyone who has seen a Mac can tell that it’s a clear knockoff. The people who supposedly “designed” the computer actually paid quite a bit of attention to the detail behind Apple’s offering. From the front, the machine looks identical to the iMac with the exception of “Lavi” text replacing the Apple logo. When it comes to form factor, the machine isn’t quite far off the real thing either as it comes in at 0.9cm at its thickest point, which is just 0.4cm thicker than the actual new iMacs expected to hit the market soon. Another similarity that can be pin-pointed is the machine’s cooling system with the fan vents located at the bottom of the machine, quite similar to that of the new iMac as well.
The knockoff is currently on sale in China with a price tag ranging anywhere from $500 to $650 depending on the options and add-ons chosen by the purchaser at the time of the order. The device will likely not be seen in the U.S. due to copyright laws, which this device quite obviously infringes upon. For those of you who are interested in seeing more pictures of the Lavi, you can do so by clicking on the source link below.

I wish I had a miniature elephant that fit in the palm of my hand. I would pick him up and he'd lift up his trunk and stand on his back legs and say PRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMPPPPPPPPPHHHHHHHH and I would say yes little elephant i love you too.

That's funny stuff. It sounds quite decent but no way in h311 am I going to purchase something like that piece of junk when I'm a gamer. I mean that's a really nice computer for the non-gamers but nice for me is a brand new i8 with 32gb ram and 1tb of hdd running windows 8 pro.
