Default Apple Releasing Another $2.5 Billion Dividend Tomorrow

On Thursday, Apple will release another payment of $2.5 billion. This follows the August payment of the same amount in what was Apple's first quarterly dividend payment in almost two decades.

Last March, Tim Cook unveiled the dividend program as part of a big buyback and dividend plan that will claim $45 billion from Apple's capital reserves over the next 36 months.

In addition to giving shareholders a little something extra to smile about, Apple has also invested no shortage of its massive amounts of superfluous cash into "research and development, acquisitions, new retail store openings, strategic prepayments and capital expenditures" in Apple's supply chain.

Fortunately, Apple has the luxury of being able to pour billions into this program and still "maintain a war chest for strategic opportunities and have plenty of cash to run our business."

FYI, it's too late now to buy stock to get in on the dividend

who cares?! If i owned 100 shares of apple I'd be more concerned with the, lets say, $7000 I just lost in declining stock value in the last few weeks and not the $250 I would receive in dividends in a week.

You haven't lost anything until you've sold. Dividends are for sure cash.
