Apple Mentions New iMacs Will Be in Short Supply Once Released

One of the biggest surprises at the iPad mini keynote was the announcement of the redesigned iMacs, which are said to be unbelievably thin compared to previous iMacs. As per the usual typical releases of refreshed Apple products, the new iMac is likely to be in short supply when it launches and not surprisingly, many people seem to be eager to get their hands on it.
During Apple’s financial results conference call yesterday afternoon, Tim Cook was asked whether any Apple products will be facing any significant supply constraints over the next few months. When asked this question, Cook made sure to mention the iMac in particular and said that it will be “constrained in a significant way.” He continued to explain that because the iMac line is currently in transition with old models not being available any longer and the new 27-inch units iMacs won’t ship till December, while the 21.5-inch iMacs will ship in November. He noted that Apple expects the demand for the new machines to be very strong and that initial supply will most likely not be able to meet demand.
Apple’s online store isn't accepting pre-orders for the new iMacs as of right now but if you’re hoping to get your hands on one, you may want to keep your eye on them in order to be able to get one as soon as they become available. We expect the pre-orders to be available in the near future.

A bit thinner? Yes. Unbelievably thin? Hardly. They try to avoid showing the full body, focusing on (yes) very thin edges. But here is a direct comparison of the last and current models.

Yes, it is thinner. But other than cosmetically, there is no important difference (esp. for a machine that SITS ON A DESK!).

Thanks for that visual. I have been wondering. Looks like it might be a little bit prettier but that remains to be seen (and is subjective).

This isnt a surprize apple claims big new FEATURE's,Oh but we only have a few so hurry hurry,
This is what has driven me away from apple product's,I not a fan of any co. I am a fan of a product that lets me have feature's that I need and want,I am tried of being misled by big claims "200" NEW features but as you look though it's 197 fixes, 2 maybe 3 almost new idea's,
