Microsoft Takes Marketing Campaign to Chicago Apple Territory

Microsoft is very confident in its forthcoming Windows slate tablet computer - so much so that the computer software giant is turning to an aggressive marketing campaign in Apple's neck of the woods.

"Two weeks before Microsoft finally announced a launch date for its anticipated Surface tablets," writes Yoni Heisler of iOnApple, "I happened to be riding the bus when I came across a particularly bizarre advertisement for Microsoft's upcoming tablets on the side wall of a car wash."

On closer inspection, appeared that Microsoft - and not just its supporters - is directly behind this artistic ad campaign in Chicago. "Sure enough," Heisler says, "this wasn't some amateur tech-nerd's version of graffiti, it appears to be some bonafide Microsoft guerilla style marketing."

The Microsoft display on the side of the aforementioned car wash is located just one block from the Apple Store in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago. For now, Microsoft won't officially confirm its involvement in the advertisement. But this has Microsoft written - or, perhaps, painted - all over it.
