Default Apple and Google Expected to Lock Horns Over Kodak Patents

The Wall Street Journal is confirming that Apple is, indeed, pursuing Kodak's extremely valuable patent portfolio.

In January, Kodak filed for Chapter 11 protection and is relying on a workable reorganization in response to a successful patent auction.

"This is a confidential naked auction and therefore we will have no comment," a rep from the embattled photography giant tells the WSJ. According to information gleaned today, a "bankruptcy court supervised auction" of Kodak's patents will take place on August 8th.

At least two groups are expected to bid on Kodak's trove of 1,100 patents, with a bevy of technology and patent heavyweights picking sides and competing for the patents, said people familiar with the matter.
Apple and Google are believed to be the two most likely aggressors in the home stretch of the auction, as Kodak's digital photography-related patents could prove immensely important to the iOS and Android makers in the years to come.

Everything is for sale..that has been the message i've known since birth even people. Highly doubt Goog/Sam get together on this as they are two companies that would want it too themselves. They don't want to share a thing. Same thing that happened to the Nortel Patents..they will be divided as they should be to further future technology. Highest bidders will always win for obvious reasons.
