Apple Boss Tim Cook Takes a Tech Retreat

Summertime is a great time for a cookout, but the only "Cook" that was out today in the tech world was Apple CEO Tim Cook, who shocked some by turning up in Sun Valley, Idaho at Allen & Co.'s annual retreat.
According to the New York Post, this is Cook's first tech retreat since becoming head of the world's most profitable company (Steve Jobs had attended the retreat on more than one occasion in the past). But this time around, Cook's visit was brief. He popped in for just one session titled “Iran vs. Israel.”
Rumor has it that Cook made the trip to Idaho as a means to connect with fellow industry heavyweights in anticipation of striking content deals before the hotly anticipated iTV is launched at some point in the near future. When asked if he was there for any reason related to the rumored HDTV Apple television, Cook said ""I can’t tell you that.”
Sounds like a big "yes" to me. Something worthwhile, after all, must have lured the ultra low-key chief executive out of his comfortable Cupertino, California dwellings. But only time will tell why Cook was in Idaho today. But the scuttlebutt remains that the appearance was all about the so-called iTV.
